The ALCHEM Laboratory
In order to ensure the reliability of the tests results performed in our laboratory we employ cutting-edge equipment and a highly skilled staff. Reliability and credibility are our top priority in working with both the clients who put their trust in us and the Accreditation entities.
Since 1993, ALCHEM laboratory is certified by the Department of Labor Inspection to perform occupational-environmental monitoring in the work place. As of 2008 ALCHEM is also a certified laboratory accredited by Israel Laboratory Accreditation Authority as operating in compliance with ISO/IEC 17025:2005.
Our lab includes:
- A mobile laboratory equipped with an extensive array of instruments to sample and measure air pollutants, wastewater, chemical pollutants in the soil, and noise levels.
- Analytical laboratory which analyzes wastewater samples, air soil and sludge pollutants
- Sampling and analysis laboratory for the detection of airborne biological pollutants (mold and bacteria)
- A pilot department designed to examine the efficiency of facilities and the feasibility of technological solutions for the treatment of air and water pollutants.
Our Staff
The staff comprises of skilled, knowledgeable, and experienced professionals who possess a deep understanding of production procedure in various fields of industry. Our staff is also well versed in both International and Israeli environmental laws and regulations as well as in matters related to environmental and occupational health.
Eng. Erica Sapir – CEO and founder
Graduated from Ben-Gurion University where she majored in chemical engineering. She is registered with the Register of Engineers and Architects kept by the Registrar of Engineers in Israel and is also a member of the engineer association.
Erica was previously employed by the Israel Aerospace Industries (IAI). While there, she was the project engineer responsible for the team which designed and constructed the plant for aviation procedures. The project involved the construction of a chemical laboratory responsible for quality control, wastewater facilities control, and the detection of airborne pollutants. At IAI, Erica was also in charge of the laboratory processing quality control and the implementation of new processes.
In 1988 Erica founded ALCHEM, which started as a consulting firm. Soon after, she established the environmental laboratory.
Ram Gilboa – Hygienist and Certified Inspector
Ram graduated from the Faculty of Chemistry in the Technion (Israel Institute of Technology). He is a certified inspector accredited by the Ministry of Industry, Trade & Labor – Department of Labor Inspection.
Ram was an assistant researcher in the R&D laboratory of The Life Science Research Institute Ltd. While fulfilling this position he accumulated valuable knowledge and experience in analytical procedures: gas chromatography and spectrophotometry.
Ram is an Industrial Hazmat Inspection officer (of the reserve forces) in the Home Front Command (safety and hazardous materials). As an inspection officer Ram performs Hazmat safety audits in civilian factories in order to ensure Israel's readiness to war in this area. Among other issues, the audits include: preparations needed to protect the personnel and sensitive materials, readiness for evacuation or unprotected neutralizing of Hazmat during emergency.
At ALCHEM, Ram conducts chimerical-hygienic surveys and monitors risk factors in the work place, office buildings and institutions.
Rita Klieman – Head Chemist
Rita graduated from the V. I. Lenin University of Makhachkala, Russia with a Master's Degree in chemistry. Rita has twelve years of experience in research and development of technologies for air, water and food quality testing in the Department of Sanitation and Epidemiology of Makhachkala municipality.
Rita has been the head of the ALCHEM laboratory for the past fifteen years
Yael Zusman – Analytical Chemist Yael graduated from Moldova State University in Kishinev with a Master's Degree in physical chemistry. Yael has twenty five years of experience as a chemist in the National Institute of Occupational & Environmental Health. She joined the ALCHEM family five years ago. Benny Neumark – Analytical Chemist & Operations Manager Benny handles the logistics at the lab including acquisition and customer relations. In addition performs analysis using various analytical equipment: ICP-OES, GC-FID and HPLC UV/Vis. Shahar Schiffer – Analytical Chemist Shahar performs wide range of analysis using "wet" chemistry and various analytical equipment.
